Old Lodge HS is a forward thinking Club that is always looking to the future, its headquarters are based in the South Ribble area of Preston at the Anchor Inn, Croston Road, Lostock Hall Preston. The Membership are a good friendly bunch who will work hard for the Sport in general by organising numerous open races and running the Bamfords Gold Ring Spectacular Young Bird and Old Bird Races which have an annual combined payout in excess of £30,000. The Club competes weekly in the New Lancs Fed and South Lancs Combine, which in turn compete in the Central Lancs Combine at Mangotsfield and Portland. The Club also race the North West Classic Club land and channel races as part of their programme which allows Members to compete for excellent prize monies within their Club Races. Members of Old Lodge are regularly seen at the top of the NWCC results and almost always the Section C Winner in these races is a Member of Old Lodge. The reason for this is thought by the Members to be that as the Club is in an extreme Westerly position and at the back of the rest of the Fed and Combine, the birds fly a NWCC race style race every week and they are used to having to break 20 miles away and fly the remainder of the race on their own. The Club has an annual prize payout of over £1,500 and is one of the few Clubs in the area that still organizes a prize presentation which is well supported. There are 24 Members in the Club and they are always happy to consider new applications from like minded pigeon fanciers whose lofts are located within the Club radius, but just bear in mind that Old Lodge Members are workers and any lazy bones need not apply.
